The
Stamps
On August 10, 2010 the Ministry of
Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus issue the
set of 4 stamps dragonfly Green snaketail (Ophiogomphus cecilia). The Green
snaketail is a dragonfly listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.
Pollution of reservoirs is the main threat of the reduction of this dragonfly
population. Only single green snaketails are found on the territory of
Belarus. This dragonly is also listed in the Red Book of Lithuania and
it is protected in Europe.
The stamps are issued under the aegis
of the nature protection organization World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)
and bear the WWF logo.
